Advancing with Technology

The advancement of our educational system has always been a primary obective in our country. But now the best tools we can use to advance the learners engagement is by accessing technology. The U.S department of Education release a report the details National Educational Technology Plan. It details goals and recommendations for learning, assessment, teaching, infrastructure, and productivity. It details how we want learners to have an engaging and empowering learning experiences in and outside of the classroom. They will also use technology to leverage the ability to measure the learners knowledge. Technology will be readily accessible to our teachers so they are able to access data, content, and resources to provide an effective learning experience. Schools will be supplied the infrastructe to properly facilitate these goals. The school as a whole will take advantage of these resources to make continued progress in all areas of instruction. It also talks about improving learning through connected teaching. Teachers will need to become well versed on how to develop students in communication collaboration, problem solving using various technology based applications. This calls for a 21st century teacher that will challenge our systems and be creative and innovative in their approach to teaching. Tools, resouces, and time will be need to accomplish these goals. It will be neccessary to develop and design technology based curriculum and online communities. Teachers will have to sent to extensive trainings and be able to teach others in these approaches. This report set the stage, we must step up and meet the challenge.
